The 1889 Foundation Creative Health Impact Grant offers opportunities for local non-profit organizations that have arts and health and wellness initiatives to apply for up to $6,000 in funding to support arts projects, performance activities, exhibitions, and other activities that relate to health and wellness.
Grant applicants apply directly to PRAA for these grant funds. The application is a fillable pdf document that is completed online, printed, and mailed to the PRAA office. The full grant application and complete grant guidelines are available by clicking on the links below.
To use the grant application, click on the link, then download the document to your computer and save it on your computer before writing on the form. You can save and reopen and edit the application as needed. Submission is by mail. See the grant application guidelines for details on how to submit.
For the 2026-2027 Grant Year:
- All funded events and project activities must take place between September 1 and August 31. The grant application and guidelines are now available. Scroll down for the links.
- Submission deadline is Friday June 26, 2026.
- Any new applicant wishing to apply for this grant funding must schedule a meeting (in person or by phone) with PRAA’s Executive Director to discuss the scope of the program or project. This meeting must be held no less than 3 weeks before the grant deadline. There will be no exceptions to this date requirement.
- Applicants that have previously applied are not required to have a pre-application meeting. They should notify PRAA’s Executive Director of their intent to apply for the current year.
- An additional component is a brief Zoom meeting with the grant panel. This meeting should take no more than 15/20 minutes per grant applicant. For this meeting a representative of the organization should give a brief summary of the project and be prepared to answer questions from the panel. The panel will have already reviewed your application so a lengthy presentation is not necessary. You will be contacted to set up the date and time of the Zoom meeting which will take place in late July/early August.

Any grant applicant is welcome to schedule a meeting with PRAA’s Executive Director to discuss the grant application. This meeting can be set up as a phone call or a Zoom conference call.
