Citizens for the Arts in Pennsylvania
Citizens for the Arts in Pennsylvania (CFAPA) is a statewide multi-discipline arts advocacy organization whose mission is to ensure the practice of, access to, and appreciation of arts and culture for all citizens in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. CFAPA informs and encourages the Legislature of Pennsylvania to support funding that will help the arts and culture sector to grow and thrive.
CFAPA recently selected Pamela Snyder Etters as its new Executive Director, replacing Jenny Hershour who has retired from the position. Pamela was previously the Executive Director of the Altoona Symphony Orchestra and is excited about serving in this new statewide position.
Recently on May 24, Arts Advocacy Day in Pennsylvania, Pamela traveled across the state to visit several arts organizations and arts leaders. Starting in Pittsburgh, Pam visited with Harris Ferris, the Executive Director of the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. From there she visited Ann Kraybill at the Westmoreland Museum of American Art, then on to the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown to talk with Jeffrey Webb, the director of the Johnstown Symphony Chorus. Next, she stopped at her home town of Altoona to visit Sarah Vogel at The Clay Cup coffee house and pottery studio, then ended her day at The Dance Loft in Altoona, talking with Mackenzie Counterman. It was a wonderful day, showcasing so many dynamic arts organizations across our state. You can watch the videos of Pamela’s visits here. Scroll down through the videos to see all of the visits.
