COVID-19 Virus Information

covid19-text-on-paperThe impact of the national emergency that has been declared as a response to the COVID-19 virus pandemic has hit everyone very hard, including arts organizations in the western Pennsylvania region. Many of you have had to reschedule or cancel events, concerts, camps, and many other activities. The full impact of all of this may not be fully realized for many months to come.

Pennsylvania Rural Arts Alliance staff and board members are ready to help with any questions or problems that you have as a result of the current situation. We also would like to share information between arts organizations, as a way to work together at this critical time.
There are many ways that we can work together and help each other. Here are a few:
  • Use the Contact Us link on the PRAA website to send in a question, problem, or even a solution to a problem. We will share this with others through our blog posts on the PRAA website.
  • Organizations that have PCA grant funding should contact the PRAA office to discuss extensions for use of grant funds, and any other issues regarding funding.
  • Share external links with valuable information – Here is one – Americans for the Arts.
  • Share your success stories – what are you doing in your communities to provide diversion, education, virtual tours, etc.
  • Let us know if there is something more that we can do to help you.
We all have to believe that this virus pandemic will end, and that our lives will go back to normal. My hope is that we will be stronger when that happens, since we will have learned to reach out in new ways, do better at problem solving, think more creatively, and have more meaningful connections. The arts can work magic!
